Positioning Surveyor

Role:
Marine, subsea Positioning Surveyor reporting to Offshore Manager / Business Manager
You’ll be able to make an impact by improving mobilisation efficiency, by being the offshore subject matter expert for all things positioning equipment, and by taking control of equipment offshore. We need you to help us put our equipment where it needs to be.
Responsibilities
- Performing all assigned tasks in a professional manner, in compliance with all company and regulatory safety and technical standards / requirements.
- Production of a survey mobilisation plan.
- Ensuring all procedures for positioning are up to date and correct for the appropriate spread.
- Lead the mobilisation of topside and subsea positioning equipment including integration into subsea assets and vessel systems.
- Completion of pre-mobilisation calibration and verification checks of positioning equipment.
- Monitor equipment to ensure the highest standards of data quality.
- Fault finding and reinstatement as required in the event of equipment failure.
- Ensure all safety systems are functional for deployment.
- Demobilisation of any equipment that is out of date or needs recalibration on completion of a scope of work.
Experience
- A strong technical understanding of marine subsea and topside positioning systems.
- You have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accurate deployment and / or installation of subsea and surface assets.
- Experience in mobilisations of positioning systems for offshore geotechnical and geophysical operations.
- Demonstrated experience in similar roles.
- Experience with various systems and software including Qinsy 9, CNAV, Hemisphere, Kongsberg Seapath 351, Trimble MPS 566 / HiPAP 502, Octans, SVP and CTD units and FO gyros.
- Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Good verbal and written English language skills with experience of QAQC document production.
- Able to work offshore for periods of up to 4 weeks.
Qualifications and QHSE
- Valid BOSIET/FOET/HUET/STCW.
- Valid ENG1 or OGUK Medical Certificate
- Seamans book
- Able to work in the EU or hold a valid Schengen visa
- A relevant degree in surveying or equivalent qualification
